Pokémon 30th Anniversary — WOW, This Set Does Not Disappoint
The Pokémon 30th Anniversary Celebration set just came out, and let’s just say… WOW.
This set does not disappoint.
Luckily, we were able to get our hands on some of the new products and actually rip open a bunch of packs ourselves. One of my favorite things right away was getting one of those adorable Pikachu cards in every pack. They’re seriously awesome, and it made opening each new pack that much more fun.
The hit rates weren’t terrible either! That made it really hard to stop because every pack felt like it had a chance of giving us something exciting.
This Might Be My Favorite Mega Evolution Set
The last few sets have been really difficult to find if you actually wanted to open packs. They’ve all been cool sets in their own way, but out of the Mega Evolution sets so far, the 30th Anniversary set might be my favorite.
The artwork is seriously impressive.
I thought I loved Ascended Heroes, but after opening the 30th Anniversary set, this one quickly shot toward the top of my list.
When we first got our hands on it, our attitude was basically:
“This will be fun. We’ll collect whatever we can.”
Yeah… that plan didn’t last very long.
Now we want to master the set.
The Artwork Is Incredible
Some of the futuristic artwork in this set looks amazing, and the new day and night cards take things to another level. There are so many cards where you just have to stop for a second and actually look at the artwork.
Every time we finished opening a few packs, I just wanted to open more.
And then we got really lucky.
We managed to pull an RGB Mew!
Apparently, these cards were kept extremely secret until release and weren’t discovered until people actually started pulling them from packs. I honestly can’t remember another time I’ve seen a Pokémon card that was part of a set but wasn’t included on the official card list beforehand.
Correct me if I’m wrong on that one, though! 😂
Either way, discovering something like that while everyone is opening a brand-new set makes the whole release even more exciting.
We originally planned on casually collecting the 30th Anniversary set.
Now?
I think we’re going for the master set.
And judging by how much fun we’ve had opening it so far, I have a feeling we’re going to be ripping a lot more packs.
Top 5 Cards from this set
First off, i love Mew. This artwork is just absolutely amazing. Would look great next to a bubble mew.
The Gengar. Is much more really needed to say? He just looks up to no good and having a good time with it.
The night time Pikachu Ex. Just looks like they are having one the best parties ever. So many cute pokemon, and just absolutely adorable. Also love snorlax in the background 🙂
Always a fan of some eeveelutions, and this sylveon does not dissapoint. Its much better in person than a digital image on a pc.
Seriously, this is probably the best morpeko card. Other than the evil ones, this one is just so positive and happy. Its like hes running on a hamster wheel. Super cool card, and surprisingly not very expensive to order a single.
